Miranda Anderson is an environmental and sustainability expert who specializes in corporate responsibility, strategic and operational management, and organizational development. Her career has spanned both the non- and for-profit sectors, holding management positions in solar energy development in emerging markets, environmental politics, and wireless telecommunications. As Vice President for Investor Analysis at David Gardiner & Associates, Ms. Anderson provides a range of services to Socially Responsible Investment firms and other long-term investors to inform and manage multi-million dollar investment decisions. Her work includes: customized due diligence research analyzing the social and environmental records of major public corporations; strategic and tactical guidance on shareholder advocacy campaigns, with particular emphasis on climate change; and analysis of off-balance sheet risks and opportunities in specific sectors, including automobiles, electric power, banking, and insurance. In addition to her role as investor analyst, Ms. Anderson works with clients to develop long-term strategic and operational plans, build climate change policies and programs, and develop public-private alliances. She is also a frequent guest lecturer on corporate responsibility and sustainability issues at George Washington University’s School of Business. Prior to joining DGA, Ms. Anderson served as Director of Operations for two non-profits, Environment2004 (E’04) and the Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF). At E’04, she was in charge of FEC and IRS compliance, finance, and administration, and also assisted with fundraising and overall strategy and program development. At SELF, Ms. Anderson focused on financial management, strategic and operational planning, intern and volunteer management, board development, and general office administration. In the private sector, Miranda has experience in staffing, training, marketing, financial management, and policy/procedure development, with particular emphasis on community and employee relations. In addition, in her previous consulting capacity, Miranda developed and implemented non-profit fundraising campaigns; researched international public-private partnerships; and managed logistics for a global governance seminar. Ms. Anderson graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University, and earned a Masters of Business Administration from George Washington University, specializing in Environmental Management and Policy. Her research on corporate water policies won the Center for Corporate Citizenship at Boston College 2004 award for Best MBA Paper in Corporate Citizenship. |
